West Virginia: A group of West Virginia coal miners rescued a couple after their electric vehicle died, pushing the car to a charging station at the coal mine.
West Virginia State Sen. Randy Smith (R) and coal miners Andrew Smith and Daniel House joined “Fox & Friends” to discuss the irony of the circumstances and how they rescued the tourists last week.
“It was pretty ironic… to be plugged into a coal mine,” State Sen. Smith told co-host Steve Doocy. “You can’t make this stuff up… We had some good conversations, we’re still laughing about it.” Source: Fox News September 7, 2022
California: A text alert has prevented California from plunging into darkness on Tuesday, as grid operators asked residents to reduce their energy consumption and turn down their air-conditioning amid a deadly heatwave that’s brought demand for electricity up to record levels.

On Tuesday evening, just before 5:30 p.m., California’s grid operators ordered the highest level of emergency, and warned that blackouts were incoming. Less than 20 minutes later, at 5:48 p.m., the state’s Office of Emergency Services sent out a text alert to people in counties at risk, asking residents to save energy if possible.
