Approval (or silence) of those “who do such things…” is not acceptable. 

Stand up for justice, what is right. 

No, you don’t trash a neighbor’s property.

No, you don’t kneel on the neck of a man, ignoring his pleas for air.

No, you don’t murder a North Carolina youngster who was reportedly quietly riding his bike outside his home.

No, you don’t attack an elderly woman in Portland, throwing paint on her and yelling, “This isn’t your world anymore.”

No, you don’t assault a man in Portland, pulling him from his truck and kicking him unconscious.

Are you silent? Are you abetting (approving)? Are you standing up? Are you speaking out?

Yes, we have made mistakes and caused others pain. We can do better. We strive to do better.

America is a vigorous democratic republic—the freest and least prejudiced country of this or any time. Its people are fundamentally good. Its institutions are reasonably sound. Its basis is solid yet willingly accepts the challenges of the rights of man to improve.

We must stand for justice for all.
