We are saddened by the deaths of John Lewis and Herman Cain.  Their experiences and sacrifices become indelible marks on the fabric of our nation.  We are a better community because of them.  The basis of our constitution provided opportunities and their efforts improved those opportunities for all Americans.  
They succeded in their own ways with differing philosophies but proved that black lives make a difference. 

Our nation grows as we listen, learn, understand, and act.
