Our 1983 Santana Marathon midnight blue tandem bicycle is the last year Santana built this model. The reason is because of the costs in brazing and filing those beautiful tubing joints. Our bike has been kept in immaculate condition stored inside our bike closet as it has had little use for the past 20 years and we’ve decided it’s time to sell. We purchased this bike new and have cycled the Oregon and California coasts with ease and no mishaps. It fits a 5’11” captain and 5’6” stoker with plenty of room left for higher or lower seat adjustments
The Santana Marathon tandems have additional rear stays running to the main cross tube giving added stiffness making downhill runs less worrisome and uphill climbs less challenging from frame movement.
The bike will come to you with an extra new brake and shifter cable set, a new clip-on handlebar bag, five new Giant brand 27 x 1 ¼ inch boxed tubes and five new Continental 27 1 ¼ inch Ultra Gatorskin tires at no additional cost.
Shipping costs will be at the buyer’s expense. If the buyer lives in the Southern California area, we could arrange to meet halfway for a drop off.
