This is a story about love and loss. After caring for two husband sand her mother for 22 years, Reese documented the relationship and passing of her husband, the love of her life, and her always loving mother—both of whom were dying at the same time.
In It wasn’t supposed to happen this way, “You will laugh, you will cry, and you will fall in love.”
Each day was a challenge, yet each day was an opportunity to laugh with her quick-witted husband and her funny mother while finding ways to honor the love they shared.
Once Reese was no longer a caregiver, she set out to redefine her purpose in life creating a process to transform her pain into a future full of meaning. Hers is a love story. Her process to redefine purpose provides a path out of grief. Both are within the cover of her book.
Jeanette Reese has published in the AARP Bulletin, the L.A.Times, the Jessup Sentinel among other publications. She now follows her passion for helping others by writing, conducting workshops on surviving grief, coordinating a Death Cafe discussion group, and leading grief groups for survivors.
