I
the world muffled
light leaks through the cracks in grays
slowly brightening
morning mists touched by the sun
evaporate
dreams, hard fought battles
chase and catch
evaporate
what was caught up in
chaos and lost
a mystery played out and misplaced
blank pages emerge
II
she scrambles between my legs and the swinging door
stops abruptly into a hunter’s clutch
motionless
watching a spot on the wall
etched in the chaos
some lizard sunbathed there days’ past
she
re-living the chase
plops down, tail curled
self-satisfaction
re-living the catch
soaking sun’s glorious rays
III
eluding the Son
a fly makes a buzzing entrance
lights
re-buzzes to light again
repeating its way to some prize
maddening along its way
trolling decadent depths
gorged
performing its fastidious ritual
rubbing its hands
of it all
